It sure is a bummer to load your bike in the car, drive twenty miles to the trailhead and get ready to bike only to notice your front brakes aren't working. Give your bike a check-up at home before riding.
Steps:
1. Give your bike a quick visual check and look for anything unusual. Make sure the brakes are hooked up, the quick releases are secure and there are no gross malformities elewhere on your bike.
2. Lube your chain if it looks dry or rusty.
3. Check to see that your seat is adjusted to the height you desire.
4. Hop on your bike and pedal around the neighborhood.
5. Make sure you can shift into every gear and your brakes are functioning.
6. Fill up your water bottles.
7. Grab your helmet and enjoy the ride.
Tips:
If you forgot to clean your bike after the last ride, take a few minutes to wash any dirt or grime off for a better-functioning bike.
Warnings:
Cycling is a physically challenging sport that could result in serious injury. We recommend that you seek the proper equipment and training before undertaking this activity.
