Bikestation is a not-for-profit organization that offers secure bicycle parking and related services to make cyclists' lives easier. Park your bike at Bikestation and you can be assured that your vehicle is secure and covered.
Whether you ride your bike to public transportation, to work, or you simply need a safe place to store your bike for the day, Bikestation is available to serve you. It's simple, convenient and affordable.
In addition, each Bikestation location provides unique services and amenities; but most Bikestations provide:
- Shared-use bicycle rentals;
- Access to public transportation;
- Convenient operating hours;
- Friendly and helpful staff;
- Information to plan your commute trips.
Some Bikestation locations offer bicycle repairs, bicycle and commute sales & accessories, rental bikes for local and tourist needs, restroom/changing rooms and access to environmentally-clean vehicle-sharing. Select your local Bikestation from the menu bar for specific services and programs.
Other Bike shops rent bicycles by the hour, day, week, and sometimes even by month. Typically, you can choose from standard road frames, mountain bikes, and often cross bikes. Ask dealers whether you can apply the rental price towards your purchase.
To rent a bike, most shops will require 1) photo ID and 2) cash and/or credit card deposit. If you reserve a rental bike, remember to inquire about the shop's cancellation policy. Also, be sure to return your rental on time; like video stores, shops rely on returned bikes for other rentals - you'll be charged a late fee if you bonk on the way back to the store. Finally, you'll feel really awful if your rental is stolen, and you must pay for the bike; remember to bring a lock or rent one.
